Indian Air Force Day 2020

Today, that is 8th October 2020 marks the 88th anniversary of the Indian Airforce day. This day is celebrated with all the glory to increase the awareness about the Indian air force and the role it plays in the security of the nation.

Almost all the distinct people tweeted about the day and what Indian Air Force does for securing the skies off the wrath of the other countries. I couldn’t be more proud on saying that our country has one of the most powerful air forces in the world.

Since I am not too qualified in the field and neither have I done my research on the same, I would refrain from talking about the technicalities. But I do wanted to tell that this day holds a really special place in my heart since I was a kid!

I had my school near the Hindan Airforce station where the day is celebrated. The day is marked by the main event comprising a parade and a fly past at the Hindan Air Force Base along with events at IAF establishments across the country — this time with many restrictions due to the pandemic.

As a kid, my school always made sure that a selected few of us went to witness the parade and the fly past that is held at the Air Force base with much glory! Alas! I could never go, due to some reason or another. But luckily my brother did and has so many fond memories of the day!

The fact that I couldn’t witness it myself makes it a little sad but the noise of the airplanes flying above my terrace for a lot of days before the 8th of October and on the day itself, fills my heart with patriotism galore!

How I look up to all the officers, brave hearts and the families who selflessly safeguard us against all the dangers lurking around. It is them who give up their sleep for us to have a sound sleep.

I wholeheartedly salute all the officers and families of the people in the Indian air Force and rather all the forces .

Jai Hind!

A very Happy Indian Airforce day!
