The holy days of “Navaratras” and the upcoming fun

Mythologies have always inspired me more than anything else I've read. Greek mythology and Hindu mythology are among the ones I have read and it does really make me wonder about how small beings we really are and how astounding this universe is.

I have always been fascinated by seeing my grandma doing the cleaning of the beautiful idols and my dadaji passionately helping her inputting new stuff by the idols of the Gods and making sure lights work among all the other things.

I love the festivities and the fun and frolic it brings into our lives. With a little nip in the air, comes along the colorful festivities and the happiness that has mostly been lacking in our lives especially this year.

October is usually the month that marks the beginning of the festivities all around the world, be it in the country, India, or any other western country. ( I am sorry for having excluded many other countries here and I do so because of my lack of knowledge of the subject)

With Durga Puja just around the corner, I can't stop myself from thinking of the power a woman has. Especially, that has been proven in times like these. Yes, I'm talking of “working from home”. Women are always on their toes. Be it work or any other front. I remember my HR saying it to me while she was in the process of hiring me that you do not have to come online at all on skype owing to the work that you may have during lunch hours. And I couldn't sit but be glad that I have a super supportive mum who helps me handle it and help me in doing all my things (nothing I'm proud of). But I know so many women who have to do things not just for themselves but for their family as well and especially adhere to the different demands (mostly unreasonable) the family members come up with.

I have nothing but sheer respect for women, for the passion, for the courage to not only fight the external battles but to also fight those internal everyday battles.

This may now appear as a post or an article for the women’s day but it is really not. It is just me, a “privileged being” expressing her gratefulness to all the women around me.

You are the ones who help me be better each passing day.

Thank you for being the strong pillar of strength and inspiration!

And to end this, may the starting of the festivities also mark as the begining of the upcoming happiness into your lives!
